2015: Coming Back in All Sorts of Ways

Well hello there my wonderful little blog whose visitors are me, me, and me. I am obviously resigned to the fact that I am but one in a gazillion blogs about fashion/life/DIY. But who cares? Not this chica (well, maybe just a little bit). I’ve always wanted a personal forum where I would be free to express myself, whether in clothes, via the written word, etc. And this is it.

So, hello again, Pearls and Mangoes. A lot has happened after my last post. I got married in October of 2014:

I also gained back ALL and then some of my pre-wedding weight during the honeymoon, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and my recent birthday celebration in February. No pictures of those events, obviously (my word of the day), as I really did not look as well as I would like in those pictures.

I also got back into capoeira. Capoeira is essentially a Brazilian martial art disguised as dance. If you would like to learn more, just click on the link above, or look at the picture below:

I obviously will not be able to do what these two men are doing for quite a while. But it is the goal, eventually. My primary goal right now is to get back into capoeira training, lose the weight, feel great, and be once again part of an amazing culture that I had to cut off a few years ago with a previous group. Perhaps I will talk about that in another blog

Words can’t begin to describe how happy I am to be back in capoeira. My body is aching and sore from the last few days of being back in ANY form of exercise, but its a GOOD soreness.

Finally, I got back into changing my eating habits, hopefully for good. I hesitate to call it dieting because technically, what you eat is your “diet”. My re-phrasing it to changing eating habits is to me, a personal way to looking at eating from a different perspective. What is/are my new eating habits? It is called the Slow Carb Diet, which was popularized by Tim Ferriss in his book The 4-Hour Body.

But what about fashion and personal style? Those posts will still be there, but interspersed with my on-going journey with reaching my fitness and health goals, and becoming more comfortable with myself as I get older and wiser ;-).

Have a wonderful week-end everyone!
