What a whirlwind of the past two months it has been! First was my Paris trip, followed by my Bali trip for a friends’ wedding. That was interspersed w/ tragic news of my home island of Bohol, Philippines being struck by a 7.8 earthquake. Not less than a week or so later, Typhoon Haiyan comes and obliterates half of the Visayas area in the Philippines.
In light of these most recent events, I didn’t really feel like blogging. But such is life, where one must move on and must deal with reality. I continue my own personal efforts to help out those in need, but I also continue to help myself as well, and continue to use this blog as my personal creative outlet. So here goes!
Today I wanted to incorporate the increasing trend of leather into a work outfit. I had recently purchased an oxblood pleather skirt from Forever 21 for the awesome price of $12.80. I wore that today with an orange silk blouse plus my thrifted oxblood-colored and velvet-trimmed half-length blazer:
I actually like how the oxblood color of the skirt keeps it toned down enough for an office setting. The orange silk adds a nicely subtle pop of color to this otherwise subdued outfit:
