Reminiscing Madonna and a Simple Earring DIY

An acquaintance of mine in the Philippines recently and briefly caught the public eye.  As you may or may not know, Madonna is on her Rebel Heart tour in Asia.  My acquaintance’s alter ego Super Starlette was luckily plucked out of the mass of concert-goers, and she got to danced and shared the stage for five or six glorious minutes with the Madge.  This made me reminisce about that time she was in my spot of the world in San Diego back in October of 2015, and how I finally was able to check her off my bucket list.  I was not dressed up enough to be as lucky as Super Starlette, but I was able to pull together a “Madonna” look of my own with my friend Laney:

What you don’t see in this picture are the earrings that I DIY’ed, and were inevitably covered up by my big hair:

It was amazingly simple to put these together.  Thanks to the local Michael’s, I found all that I needed such as these cool pendants that would become my earrings:

I also found these neat lever-type hooks for the ears:

As well as these super tiny jump rings to connect the lever and the pendants:

Putting all of these together was a LOT easier than I realized.  I placed the lever hooks and the rings side-by-side:

Then, using a pair of forceps,

I carefully bent the rings just so both the lever hook and the pendant loop would fit:

And just like that, I had a brand new pair of 80’s Madonna-inspired earrings!

What is your simplest DIY?
